Given our good past experiences with a Toyota Avensis go poking around for something Japanese

After my previous car, a qashqai, must be returned to the leasing company and our Toyota Landcruiser was found too uncomfortable to handle daily traffic 90 km commuting, started looking for a replacement.

Since I missed a car mainly buy with my mind, all Alfa's, Opel and Renault, and such links. I look in particular at the cars on this review site with the worst readers valuations, hence. Given our good past experiences with a Toyota Avensis go poking around for something Japanese. And since we live in Norway might be a four-wheel drive.

Were on my list:
Daihatsu Sirion 1.3 for 4wd and Yaris engine timing chain.
Daihatsu YRV 1.3, same technique.
Honda Jazz 1.3.
Mitsubishi Colt
Toyota Yaris 1.0 / 1.3
Hyundai Getz 1.3 outsider.
Skoda Fabia but really only because they were on sale for my budget with low mileages.

All petrol models and approximately 2002/2003. Diesel or considered but then you end up with something like a Polo, Corsa or C3 with significantly much higher mileages. I do not consciously wanted.
Bigger I would not because of the popular economy. And then you have a combination of petrol not too heavy car, I think.
After inquiring what remained only a few Jazzen and about 1 YRV, which was for sale at a good end drive.
Closer was a light blue Jazz for sale with CVT automatic transmission.

During the test drive found no crazy things and because the price and I liked the car but 112.00 kilometers had walked, it decided therefore not to buy.

My first Honda and what kind !! The ultimate bejaardenbak! With automatic too. Well, and still for forty .... But now I go once not the first for appearance but for the technology and reliability.

With air conditioning, electrically operated and heated mirrors, power windows and that's pretty much it, and those cursed by car week and many others, CVT automatic.

But not cursed me, it's actually pretty nice ride. Fluent you come to your place with little engine noise. At least if you do not always just kicks the accelerator almost to the bottom.
This CVT is actually best suited to a calm driving style. Fast riders find it before I do anything. But vultures or whining is no question, it's just what you want to see and hear.
My Toyota Previa automatic acceleration to go with one speed while rising speed. After reaching a certain speed ie then switches over, in which the CVT then starts to slowly less speed. I do not therefore what others mean by vultures or whine. All car accelerates making noise, this also. Only give the experience with heavy gas is different, that's true. If you open the throttle with a speedboat. The speed at the beginning of acceleration equal though slightly higher than with a conventional automatic transmission, which climbs first rows. Like the car to a taut rubber band moving forward. But this is only if you give a lot of gas. And I rarely do.
In practice, the radio is on, the tire noise you hear and chat with your fellow passenger, or yourself, also. And in combination with the quiet engine you have no idea that the car accelerated smoothly or with a toerentaldip.
Accelerating example, 40 to 70 is the same low speed, which makes the car extremely comfortable. At 70 mph, the speed as about 1800 rpm.
That explains the economy whatsoever.

In my work I have actually very little acceleration which only one time from 0 to 60, for the rest it is to ride in traffic. It CVT excels where I live in Norway are no highways. And I do not therefore draw up firm to come up with a safe speed on a highway.

Consumption: according to the onboard computer in the summer 4.7 liters per 100 km and in winter (on studded tires) averaged 5.5 liters per 100 km. Must be something less efficient in practice.
Between recharging I calculate about 1 in 18 with peaks 1 to 19 in the summer.
I do not misrepresent and 12 year old car.

After a year of use started to vibrate when accelerating the car light is off after 2-3 seconds. Found on the internet that could be a problem known Jazz CVT box with these model years. The tray should be rinsed or replace the clutch starts to be
the brand dealer has test driven around here and could not find anything, they said. Everything functioned properly. Just 200 meters from the same dealership again to shivering sensation in the first few meters. Right back, got angry and said that they could have never made a test drive.
An appointment again. At my request, the container was rinsed with new oil. That helped because after that it had no problems anymore.

Not much later the car stuttered when accelerating. Since I am of the previous dealer had kept a feeling of dissatisfaction, now visited another Honda dealer.
I read on a forum that you CVT problems could best be with the approved dealer.
After not even a road test mechanic said this to my wife: Oh, I already know I order like a new part.. A common problem, according to him. If you come back next week. Just takes quite a pretty penny, but then you have actually solved the only weak point of the Jazz, he said. I was far from through with this car and had no choice but done so.

Upon retrieving the hiccups which after a few hundred meters !! Equal reversed and taken to the mechanic for a test drive which drove him to feel what I meant. Oh, he said. This I have never felt in my test drive. Clear to me that Honda engineers have not let test drive.
He had no idea what it could be, and so they had nothing for a start-up clutch, because that was the part he had ordered, put it. My money got back because my problem is not solved.
What it was, he did not know. But what I did know was that I so did not want to drive.
After deliberation it was decided that the fuel filter could well be blocked. Which was replaced so. After paying the ridiculously high bill, thought it would be solved.
But no. Yet again these hiccups during acceleration. Crazy I got it.

In Sport mode, the container was less. Yet again made an appointment at the first dealer. I was afraid the second as long would continue searching until the start clutch again "pays" would be.

After the EGR valve and camshaft sensor replaced, they found that it did not help too.
When I suggested to look at the spark plug, was the reaction of the (young) mechanic: "No, because then I could have a read error".
But it was the spark ... that should have been replaced earlier ratio during servicing. Laxity and error on my part but maybe a Honda Mechanic expect that he mastered the basics. And making a test drive.
After replacing all eight because two per cylinder, the problem was really solved. And an almost free start-up clutch.
All in all you can not blame the Jazz, with a timely servicing this was not happening.

Then had no problem anymore. And actually, despite the above, still quite satisfied with the Jazz.

What do there:
Frugal silent motor
Overview around
short turning radius
Spacious interior dimensions for such a little one. The Nissan Qashqai this was just over the back.

What pleases less:
The somewhat hard suspension. Here in Norway the secondary roads are not too good and then you notice bumps sometimes too much.
The chairs are not really for me quite comfortable. In particular, the seat is slightly too short for me.

When buying there Yokohama's sat under 195/55 15 inch drove some lousy. Moreover susceptible to rutting. And it did not look, but that's natural flavor.
Replaced by Michelin Energy 175/65 14 inch. Is the norm. Match in looks better.
End is in sight (187.500 km)The decision is made. The Jazz will verkocht.-
It came slowly back and noticed again in full force already in the motor described earlier of hiccups. Do not know yet what it is today, because the plugs are not that old.
The vaunted confidence is rapidly evaporating so.
The car I want is to leave even after watching what, if selling is indeed not. Let me check the spark plug wires, I think.

The Jazz will be replaced by an Audi A3 1.9 TDI where I go to review sites in due course.

Because the Opel Zafira Tourer it is the finest and largest, has become this. It has become a Cosmo so sit all options trimmings. Mahogany in color (dark brown metallic) he looks very chic with chrome edges. This color also includes the "boomerang" headlights less, which also makes the car better in my opinion. The mood lighting inside (Cosmo version) is highly recommended.

Briefly about the episode: it struck me very disappointing. No clear explanation, no Opel assistance card, no flowers or keychain. Not the most up to date software navi (despite my request). I've been through this a lot better elsewhere (with much more favorable new cars)! This also sent an email to Opel Netherlands (BeNEW or I get reaction).

Now about the car itself, I am very satisfied with the car. He rides wonderfully and indeed gives the space we need. The 1.4 with 140hp is more than enough to go smoothly and the container 6Container shifts smoothly and effectively. Recently been on holiday in Germany in the Mosel / in the Eifel and in the mountains it's very pleasant ride. Very big improvement over the Zafira that we had in 2009 (1.6 115 hp then) who really came up short.

So far is the consumption really neat, especially 1 to 14. Especially when you consider that the car weighs over 1500kg.

Two points to keep in mind:
1. Until now had two occasions that the "alarm" was rung (zegmaar for the belt), even if everything was okay. After ignition off and ignition on again in order.
2. So far also had two times just the navigation / audio "fell out" while driving. Button to turn on again and went to (start) again.

Furthermore, up to now only positive about the car (and others find him very nice).

If I get reaction from Opel Netherlands, I will write an update.
(No) response dealer Motorhuis or Opel Ne (6,900 km)

The Zafira rides as yet delicious and no new faults encountered.

What is annoying is that I am opposed to the reply by Opel Netherlands, did nothing of the dealership learned about the Opel Assistance card or up to date 'navigation. In fact, I quite heard from the motor housing.

Very disappointing so again. Meanwhile yesterday Opel Netherlands this message again.

I await the answer is a bit off, but other more (and no Cascada which had yet thought) no new Opel for me. Shame, shame, shame. Surely it can be different! Not a good advertisement for Opel.
called by Motorhuis / dealer (9.600 km)

As mentioned earlier, I was still waiting for a message from Opel Netherlands (the dealer had notice) and / or the dealer himself.

I finally called by Mr Bram Versfelt of Motor housing (co-nav review on this car week). This informed me that the salesperson was me holiday and will take the contact after his vacation. This indicated that I really appreciated this post.

Then a few times (I myself was very busy) called by the salesperson and finally spoke. Then made an appointment for next week eea even by speaking.

I have every confidence that hereafter eea can be put right, and after a slow start again is quite right.

About the car itself had hitherto nothing but praise, or even one time the infotainment system 'just' went to black, but turn again and this was rectified again. Recently made a long journey to Germany which was really comfortable.

After I had the appointment with the dealer, let me know.
conversation had at Motorhuis (13,200 km)

Equally ago finally had a good talk with the motor housing in The Hague. Everything in my well-spoken and receive the Opel Assistance card. Also a bottle of wine and keychains.

The look / would ensure the most up to date navigation DVD (2013-2014), which I appreciate.

After a difficult start, I have the confidence that everything will be all right.

About the car itself I can to date also indicate too are still very satisfied. However, once the "malfunction" had with the alarm beep and now just gives the onboard computer to "parking service. Here shortly but just to look at.
sold - traded (58,800 km)

After nearly two years of service, without any significant problems swapped the Zafira Tourer a new Citroën C4 Grand Picasso. Not directly because the Zafira Tourer no longer sufficient, but more by the good presentation of the Citroën dealer (van Schie 's-Gravenzande) I have very good experiences with my various business cars
